The Miracle Bag

The Miracle Bags are a range of changing bags designed in the UK and road tested by real mums and babies for 6months before they are launched to ensure that they are up to the demands of modern parents. Each Miracle Bag comes with a 12 month guarantee so you can be confident that if there is a defect in the materials or workmanship that they will replace the bag for you! Your Miracle Bag comes in a lovely dust bag just like all good bags should, making it feel like a really luxurious treat or a great present for mums.

I chose the Urban Miracle bag in red spot, because I thought it was nice and bright. Made in oilcloth fabric the Urban bag feels like it will stand up to all the usual everyday hazards faced by my changing bag. These include being dragged round the room by a toddler, being sat on by said toddler, getting juice spilled on by the toddler and getting dribbled on by the baby! Yes, my changing bags take a lot of stick, even though I look after them like they were my handbag, they have to be up to the challenge. Because it’s oilcloth it is wipe clean, great for the juice and dribble side of things and in case C drags it through anything dubious. The sturdy base on the Urban bag means that even if its squashed it quickly goes back to its original shape so it always looks good.

Inside the bag is decorated in funky ‘dandelion’ fabric and consists of two different sides, great for me with a toddler and a baby to keep the nappies separate so that they don’t end up with the wrong size nappies on (yes that’s happened before, and no it wasn’t as funny as it sounds!). Each side has its own small zipped compartment so that you can keep small items safe. I use mine for things like spare dummies, plasters, calpol sachets etc so that I can get to them straight away if I need to. But it isn’t huge, it is great for shopping trips, or times when you don’t need loads of things with you. If you have to take drinks, spare clothes and toys as well as your usual changing bag essentials then you might need a carrier bag too. I don’t think that’s an issue as most of the time it would be plenty big enough.

It also comes with a matching changing mat so that you can protect your baby when using dubious looking changing stations in shops, cafes etc  and has a variety of ways to carry it from the striped cotton handles, to long adjustable carrying strap and clever buggy straps to hold it in place on your pram frame, the Urban bag is well thought out for the Urban lifestyle.

It also goes beautifully on my Mamas and Papas Urbo as the red spots stand out against the black fabric, and I love the way it goes on my Petite Star Zia+ with the pram strap!

I really like the Urban Miracle Bag, its funky, practical and not too big, you can buy it online from or by clicking Miracle Bags and it costs £44.95, I thought that was very reasonable.

Mamas and Papas Urbo Part 3

So we’ve had the Mamas and Papas Urbo for a few weeks now, and I think I’ve told you pretty much everything about it, you can read our initial findings HERE and the second instalment HERE. During the last few weeks we have taken it shopping, to the park, out for lunch and to The Baby Show.

Yes, we’ve pretty much covered everything, except about the rain cover, the all important rain cover, I say all important because given the Great British Weather at the moment you will need it!

Well firstly I want to say that the rain cover is unlike any I’ve seen before. It is almost a footmuff and rain cover in one, the top half looks like a regular rain cover and the bottom half looks like a foot muff. It looks great and is easy to put on which is a real bonus!

I have to say that the Mamas and Papas Urbo is a great pushchair. It is brilliant for the urban (or suburban!) lifestyle. Yes, it’s never going to be an off-roader but it will do you proud out and about round the shops or towns. I got lots of admiring glances when we went shopping last week!  Yes it could do with a foot muff, but you can buy this separately or buy a universal M&P one if you prefer. Just bear it in mind from a cost point of you if you want one.

My one criticism is that the back could do with a lick of paint or covering in material. Otherwise, what a fantastic pushchair. I would highly recommend it!

Thanks again to Mamas and Papas and Mumpanel for supplying the Urbo for me to test and review.

Get yourself to The Baby Show 2011 this weekend!!

Get yourself to The Baby Show 2011 this weekend. The Baby Show is on at Manchester Central on Saturday and Sunday (3rd and 4th September) and is well worth a visit!

I’d like to say thank you to Forever Friends Naturals for inviting us, we loved your stand and have named it “Prettiest Stand At The Show”. For those that haven’t seen my Forever Friends review you can click here to see why we love Forever Friends Naturals so much! They have some AMAZING offers on this weekend including a brand new gift set full of their lovely goodies!

LissyLou and I got to see a great big Forever Friends Bear – how lovely is he?

Where do I start as to the show itself? Firstly, the show is set out with extra wide aisles so that you can get two pushchairs side by side at once. Very important when there are hundreds of pushchairs all in the same place! Secondly, I loved the Baby Changing tent, carefully set up with changing tables so you could easily change your little one. Not to forget the all important feeding area and food for us adults too (mmmm coffee and cakes!)

I wandered round with my bloggers head on as well as my mummy head, looking for great deals and great products. I wasn’t disappointed! Nearly every stall has special ‘show only’ offers and some of the discounts were quite outstanding!

We called over to visit Núby who have brilliant show discounts this weekend including 2 products from their cups and toys range for £5 and some outstanding offers on their One Touch Range of sterilisers and bottle heaters. Very very good offers and lovely ladies on the stand!

A sneaky trip to the M&S stand had my cards burning a hole in my pocket! I could have happily bought pretty much every piece in their new range of girls clothes, my favourite pieces were the funky tights and über trendy, delicious baby cape – how cute??? (I loved the cape so much that I had to buy one, LissyLou is going to look just adorable in it!)

M&S have a great offer on for the show, 10% off everything (you can take advantage of this too by shopping online and using code BABYSHOW for 10% off baby items) and a free cardigan with every purchase!!!!! (Value of £9) We also got a free Twiggy shopper and a voucher to spend on Kids clothing at M&S in store or online for £5 off if you spend £25 from now until the end of September! (Enter BABYSAVE at the checkout)

I loved the beautiful photographs from ‘The Day That’ stunning dawn photos that would make an amazing gift or a feature for your little one’s nursery!

Konfidence has great products for taking little ones swimming including their fabulous wetsuits and sun protection outfits. Great for the local pool or sunnier climates if you are jetting off somewhere nice!

I had to stop by and say hello to UPPABaby to let them know how tests of the Vista are going and see it in action with the carrycot for smaller babies.

Now I can’t mention all the lovely products I saw but I will say this, if you have never been to The Baby Show and you have little ones or are expecting then make it your mission to get to the show asap! With great companies, products and prices there is something for everyone!

Finally, LissyLou entered the competition to become the Face of the Baby Show (you get one free print of the entry photo) so I had to share this scrummy picture of my lovely girlie (oh and one of my old mug too!!)

I highly recommend a trip to the Baby Show – go on you know you want to!!
